btw, the () number is the number of days since I started. when I get to 30 real days, I’ll do away with that, i’m sure.
Romans 12 caught me today – I really just sit down and open the Bible somewhere and start perusing – looking for things to catch my eye in the headings.
It started with a comment that is of much consternation amoung Christians – give your bodies to God. Now, it might seem to go along with the “temple of the Lord” passage, but I look in I Cor 6:13 shows it might mean specifically along to lines of immorality. Continuing, Paul exhorts to not follow the world but to let God transform us by the way we think. Going to the model of body-soul-spirit, our thinker (soul) seek to control us. To let God transform the way we think, we must turn our attention to our spirit, allowing it to converse with the Holy Spirit. How? We spend time in the Word, feeding our spirit. So, feeding our spirit changes the way we think.
the other point of mention is v. 12 – God has plans for us and we must be patient in trouble and always prayerful. In 12 verses, Romans 12 captures the basics of Christian Living. You see, it’s not what we do or how many we help, but it’s our FOCUS.
When our focus is right, we attend to the His Will, because His Will’s in the Bible – right there, just to pick up and soak in.
So, all you wondering, “Where’s God” only need to look to the pages written by divine handling.
