{"id":147,"date":"2008-10-15T12:57:13","date_gmt":"2008-10-15T18:57:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/2008\/10\/15\/day-6-20-rom-12\/"},"modified":"2008-10-15T12:57:01","modified_gmt":"2008-10-15T18:57:01","slug":"day-6-20-rom-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/2008\/10\/15\/day-6-20-rom-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 6 (20) &#8211; Rom 12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>btw, the () number is the number of days since I started.&nbsp; when I get to 30 real days, I&#8217;ll do away with that, i&#8217;m sure.<\/p>\n<p>Romans 12 caught me today &#8211; I really just sit down and open the Bible somewhere and start perusing &#8211; looking for things to catch my eye in the headings.<\/p>\n<p>It started with a comment that is of much consternation amoung Christians &#8211; give your bodies to God.&nbsp; Now, it might seem to go along with the &#8220;temple of the Lord&#8221; passage, but I look in I Cor 6:13 shows it might mean specifically along to lines of immorality.&nbsp; Continuing, Paul exhorts to not follow the world but to <i>let God transform us by the way we <u>think<\/u><\/i>.&nbsp; Going to the model of body-soul-spirit, our thinker (soul) seek to control us.&nbsp; To let God transform the way we think, we must turn our attention to our spirit, allowing it to converse with the Holy Spirit.&nbsp; How?&nbsp; We spend time in the Word, feeding our spirit.&nbsp; So, feeding our spirit changes the way we think.<\/p>\n<p>the other point of mention is v. 12 &#8211; God has plans for us and we must be patient in trouble and <b>always prayerful<\/b>.<b>&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/b>In 12 verses, Romans 12 captures the basics of Christian Living.&nbsp; You see, it&#8217;s not what we do or how many we help, but it&#8217;s our FOCUS.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>When our focus is right, we attend to the His Will, because His Will&#8217;s in the Bible &#8211; right there, just to pick up and soak in.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>So, all you wondering, &#8220;Where&#8217;s God&#8221; only need to look to the pages written by divine handling.&nbsp; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>btw, the () number is the number of days since I started.&nbsp; when I get to 30 real days, I&#8217;ll do away with that, i&#8217;m sure.
