it&#8217;s a stripped down version of a Core Windows Server installation (no GUI), and might just be perfect for a Minecraft server.\u00c2\u00a0 Java will run in it, and since the server can be launched without a GUI, this could be very useful for a lightweight VM or laptop.\u00c2\u00a0 Plus, it&#8217;s good excuse to get used to this new feature of Server 2016, even if it&#8217;s just a Technical Preview.<\/p>\n<p>I ran into an issue &#8211; even when adding OEMDrivers and manually adding the drivers from a Windows 10 load, I get no networks for the virtualized Intel 1000T nic in my VM.\u00c2\u00a0 Might just be a TP5 bug, as I see that it looked ok in others&#8217; posts from TP4.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/nanonics.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-280\" src=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/nanonics-300x243.jpg\" alt=\"nanonics\" width=\"460\" height=\"373\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/nanonics-300x243.jpg 300w, http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/nanonics-768x623.jpg 768w, http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/nanonics.jpg 1013w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, I installed the full Server 2016 Standard with Desktop (TP5) into VirtualBox to see what NIC drivers it used.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Capture.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-281\" src=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Capture-300x247.jpg\" alt=\"Capture\" width=\"300\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Capture-300x247.jpg 300w, http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Capture-768x633.jpg 768w, http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Capture.jpg 1018w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Look at the driver from the nic after the install.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/2016devices.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-284\" src=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/2016devices-300x271.jpg\" alt=\"2016devices\" width=\"300\" height=\"271\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/2016devices-300x271.jpg 300w, http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/2016devices.jpg 593w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That didn&#8217;t line up with anything, so I tried the 1000 MT Server driver&#8230; Bingo!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/20161000mt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-285\" src=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/20161000mt-300x250.jpg\" alt=\"20161000mt\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/20161000mt-300x250.jpg 300w, http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/20161000mt.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, I built a Nanoserver image &#8211;
