<strong><em>GeekFest <\/em><\/strong>for the whole nation.\u00c2\u00a0 Wives of geeks, now is the time to command your man&#8217;s joystick, virus protect his hard drive, and generally do things that firewall your geek from other threats.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;re in heaven, USE US!<\/p>\n<p>That being said, let&#8217;s cover #1:\u00c2\u00a0 Le<em><strong> iPhone<\/strong><\/em> &#8212;<br \/>\nFirst, I don&#8217;t own one, don&#8217;t PLAN to own one, nor am I a big AT&amp;T &#8220;bend-me-over&#8221; Wireless fan.\u00c2\u00a0 As one put it, &#8220;It does everything advertized&#8221;, which means it&#8217;s\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0first-bowl-of-Lucky-Charms-with-all-the-marshmallows good &#8211; The screen is excellent &#8211; movies are easily viewable, the screen autorotates depending on the orientation of the unit, you scroll the screen by just moving your finger across it for pics and songs, adjust zoom of pictures using two fingers, run a full browser, read email, surf the web via the cellular EDGE network OR Wi-Fi.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a COOL thing.\u00c2\u00a0 Except if you mom gave you the card or the cash to stand in line.\u00c2\u00a0 Then you&#8217;re just lam3.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0Number 2\u00c2\u00a0 &#8211; Pixar.<br \/>\nIf you don&#8217;t have kids, you may be little interested in the latest Pixar flick, but considering the caliber of their recent ventures (Finding Nemo, Monster&#8217;s Inc., Cars) not only in visual REALITY, but in the story and entertainment value, their latest story and technical prowess\u00c2\u00a0is <em>magnificent.<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0 Detailed CGI recreation of Paris, a French coutry-side cottage, the actions of rodents, the details of humans.\u00c2\u00a0 Pixar does it again with <em>Ratatouille &#8211;<\/em> better than ANYONE<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And finally third, and the best for last.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 <strong>Transformers<\/strong>.<br \/>\nYes, the highly polarizing director (see two posts ago) that is a fan himself.\u00c2\u00a0 Even the changes to the characters\u00c2\u00a0 &#8211; like Megatron is now a Jet and\u00c2\u00a0 Jazz is a Hummer don&#8217;t even bug me &#8211; why?\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Because seeing a vehicle TRANSFORM into a 30 foot robot\u00c2\u00a0with\u00c2\u00a0live action, even if CGI &#8211; just freaking ROCKS.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s the start of a dream every 27-37 year old man has &#8211; <strong>I WISH Transformers were R-E-A-L<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 We all have it.\u00c2\u00a0 And while it&#8217;s not real, the movies are our escape (es-cop-eh, for the fans of #2) &#8211; our window into an almost reality &#8211; and a REALLY good way to spend $9 with you fine young honey (or your pillow).\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So, I&#8217;m dragging the wife\u00c2\u00a0 and a friend to the primere tonight at midnight &#8211;
