{"id":87,"date":"2008-07-08T08:57:28","date_gmt":"2008-07-08T14:57:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/?p=87"},"modified":"2008-07-08T09:01:53","modified_gmt":"2008-07-08T15:01:53","slug":"gas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/2008\/07\/08\/gas\/","title":{"rendered":"Gas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the price of gas (87) about to hit $4\/gal here in the Houston area, I did a test this am with my MINIVAN.<\/p>\n<p>I got onto Red Bluff and Pasadena Blvd, reset my trip computer MPG, and stayed at speed limit the whole way &#8211; Red Bluff is 40mph for about 3 miles, then 55 for 4 miles in the &#8220;isolated section&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 I hit two red lights, the rest were green (imagine that&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>Once on Bay Area, it&#8217;s 50 for about a mile, then 40 the rest of the way.\u00c2\u00a0 I took this at the light in front of work with my Blackberry:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/img00081.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-88\" title=\"img00081\" src=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/img00081-300x240.jpg\" alt=\"Killer MPG\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/img00081-300x240.jpg 300w, http:\/\/stringer.cc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/img00081.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=d&#038;hl=en&#038;geocode=&#038;saddr=red+bluff+at+pasadena+blvd&#038;daddr=bay+area+and+IBM+rd&#038;sll=29.589804,-95.099888&#038;sspn=0.023623,0.043516&#038;ie=UTF8&#038;ll=29.614058,-95.049248&#038;spn=0.188935,0.348129&#038;t=h&#038;z=12\" target=\"_blank\">Google Maps<\/a>, it&#8217;s just over 9 miles.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m stopped (hence instant MPG = 0) &#8211; but the average for the trip&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 O.M.G.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the price of gas (87) about to hit $4\/gal here in the Houston area, I did a test this am with my MINIVAN.
