Whew. Yearly insurance coverage renewal. You see, since I can remember, my wife and I have been subjects of the great HMO. And, all-in-all, no complaints – a back surgery (spinal laminectomy with microdissection of L5S1 disc), birth of 3 kids, a stint for pneumonia… We’ve benefited from the most extreme coverage. However, our ER and hospital visits are so few and far between… we have switched to a PPO-like coverage. It’s going to provide about $40 more a payperiod in my pocket, but it going to have a side benefit.
It’s going to force us to be healthier. You see, if I do what I’m supposed to – eat right, loose the sweets and cut back on processed foods and get my slow as-teroid back on the bike… I AM healthy.
And when you’re healthy, you get a little more bow-chicka-wow-wow… er… uh.. i mean less sick. Lord knows I could use BOTH.
