Vacation and health

So, 15 years. Can’t believe it. We celebrated with our traditional trip to somewhere new… Nashville. And we knew someone there – but forgot our old friends, Billy and Robin, lived nearby. So in short, we enjoyed some of the downtown night life and saw the Grand Old Opry, then spent the last two days with Billy and Robin- church, Chattanooga, zoo- we really enjoyed our trip… And even their kids.

So, I got my lab workup Tuesday. My lack of serious exercise has caught up. Glucose, bad cholesterol, trigycerides all up. Doc said change is it’s diabetes THEN heart disease. He assigned me to lose 30lbs in 6 mths. Oh, and adding Omega-3 (“take it like candy”) and Niacin (B3) to my diet.

First time taking B3- I was the human torch, minus the flames. Last nights, wasn’t as bad, so I expect to have my body adjust by Friday.

So, as a quick response, I’m on Adkins diet for a month. Should convert my metabolism over to work for me, then i will start to ramp up carb intake (i got have some bread). Will start biking again this week to build cardio and raise metabolism. Sheli and will start walking at night. Should help both of us!

And onward to the next 15 years- my youngest will be 20 then :O
