A revelation

As our sense of responibilty with regard to our church as grown over the past weeks, I never would have expected what happened tonight.

Our praise team met for a status/where-are-we meeting and a common thread arose… prayer. As we talked about where we were, a realization occured to me. In Revelation, it talks if how the lukewarm are spit out, or cast from the presense of God. I saw that as a condition much like those that don’t know Christ – not sure what try need, separated from God. In my studies of prayer, I know that my prayer for the lost allows the Holy Spirit to work (to convict). I have come to believe that the lukewarm- the apathetic- those just waiting – are much in the same need of the work of the Spirit as those that don’t know Him at all. And the prayer should be the same. My desire for the Spirit to work should be as burdening.

Pray for the apathetic just as one whom is lost – the Spirit will have to work to remove those hindrances that will lead them back to the throne. Only through prayer enabling the work of the Spirit!
